What features are on the Yoto Player?

What features are on the Yoto Player?

Answer: So many! But which one do I tell you about first?

I am blown away with how amazing the Yoto Player is! There's so much free content and features and I cannot wait to tell you about them all.
Clock - The Yoto Player has a clock on the front screen of the box, the clock has a sunshine for day-time and a moon for night-time mode. This can effectively act as a replacement to a groclock. Via the Yoto app you can set the time the sunshine appears (OK to wake time for your child) and what time the moon shows (so your child knows it is still time to get some sleep).
The visual clock also tells the time too and can be set as a 12 or 24 hour format.
Nightlight - The Yoto Player has an inbuilt Nightlight! If you turn the Yoto Player screen face down a nightlight appears on the Yoto Player. Via the app you can change which colour you would like the nightlight and also adjust time settings. Like the clock feature mentioned above, the nightlight can be set to different colours to signify different times of the day so your child knows when it's ok to get up. For instance my son has chosen Red for bedtime. I then have it set on the app that at 7:30am the colour changes to Yellow so he knows its OK to get up. You can adjust the brightness of the Nightlight too via the app. Your Yoto Player will still play content whilst on the nightlight mode and you can also continue to charge it too.
Charging - The Yoto Player has a magnetic charging dock, this makes it extremely easy for a child to lift on and off the docking station when using the Yoto Player in everyday play. As the docking point is magnetic it also means that your player will charge if its sat upright or screen down (in nightlight mode)
Bluetooth Speaker - now this is exciting! The Yoto Player can act as a Bluetooth speaker. Via the app you can turn this feature on and you can Bluetooth across anything you like to the Yoto Player to be played through the speaker. Particularly handy when we have a family favourite playlist on my phone, we can now play it through the Yoto Players speakers!

Free Content - There's so much free content available from podcasts, to radio stations to sleep sounds.
Via the app you can look at what is available, then you can either stream it over to the Yoto Player, download it onto a MYO card or preset it to the ears of the Yoto Player, so for instance when your child presses the right ear, they would be able to listen to the child friendly radio stations.
Content Cards - all cards put into your Yoto Player display on your app, so you can keep track of what is in your library and even play them through your phone. When you place the card into the Yoto Player the good news is there's no right or wrong way to do it! The cards slot in easily and make it simple for children to use independently. They are robust so no need to worry.

What if I loose a Yoto Card? Like I said above, don't worry, you don't have to buy a new one! - as you have the content on the app in the card library section - you can transfer the missing card content onto a blank MYO card for now until you find the original one which was probably tucked away down your sofa! So your child can still continue playing their favourite card through their Yoto Player.
Can I add my own songs and stories? Yes you can! Along with the content cards you can also purchase blank MYO (Make Your Own) cards. Via the app you can create or upload content, transfer them onto a card and you can even decorate the card!
We will show your more about this in our next blog post!
